Silica fume is also called condensed silicon dust. The main component is SiO₂ and the content can be up to 8595%
1. Fineness: Silicon fume belongs to superfine solid powder and the average particle size is is about 0.10.15μm.

2. Fire resistance: (SiO₂90%) Its melting point can reach 1630.

3. Grain shape: Its appearance is spherical on storey and the surface is relatively smooth. It can reduce the frictional force among particles because of the lubricated function.

4. Mineralogical structure: It condensates rapidly. It's an important cement and concrete addition and additive in cement mould.

Comprehensive utilizations:

1. Used as cement batching in building material line, it can improve the compressive strength, bond strength, abrasion resistance and reduce permeability.

2. Used in mortar and concrete, it can fill apertures among particles and reduce the content of Ca(OH)₂, making mortar and concrete compact and even.

3. In chemical line, it's used in precision ceramic and high-performance powder metallurgy. Also used as basic raw material for silicic acid composition and an important filling in organic compound.
